The Bible is the Word of God
We know that the Bible is the true word of God because it can be proven through prophecy. In the Bible, there are thousands of prophecies,, and every single one of them fall into one of two categories. Either they have already been fulfilled, in exact detail, or the prophecies are clearly for the future. That’s a success rate of 100 percent. Biblical prophecies aren’t the kind of prophecies that are so general they could fit many different times in history either. Biblical prophecies are very specific. One prophecy, given around 5 centuries before the event, actually predicts the exact day Jesus Christ rides into Jerusalem on a donkey, presenting himself as king and savior.

The reason Biblical prophecy is so exciting is three fold. First, it proves the Bible really is the word of God. It’s like Gods signature on his work, proclaiming that everything in the Bible was inspired by the will of God. Remember, 100 percent accurate! This lets us know that 1) there is a God, and 2) that the real God is the one described in the Bible.
The second reason Biblical prophecy is so exciting is that it demonstrates one of the attributes of God. He is eternal. What eternal actually means is that God is outside of time. The book of Revelation says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End” Rev 1:8 NKJV. And the in the Old Testament, God says he declares “the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Isa 46:10 NKJV. God can tell the future so accurately because God can see the beginning, the end, and everything in between all at once.
The last reason for my excitement is that Biblical prophecy gives us just the briefest of glimpses into God’s plan. Because God’s plan extends from the beginning of time until the earth is burned up at the end of time, it means that God never changes. God remains the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. God is eternal!
